Decide what to index
You can point the source at any one of:
- A whole channel — paste the channel ID (
UC…). - A playlist — paste the playlist URL. Great for curating only tutorial content.
- Specific videos — paste a list of video URLs.

Add the source
In the dashboard, open Knowledge Base → Sources → Add source and choose YouTube. Fill in the channel ID, playlist URL, or video URLs, then click Add. The first sync fetches transcripts, normalizes them, and embeds them.

Verify
Ask something covered only in a video in the Playground — the answer should cite the video.

YouTube re-syncs every 24 hours — there is no schedule to configure, and Sync on the source’s page runs one now if you cannot wait. Only changed content is re-embedded. See Sources Overview.Troubleshooting
- A video contributes nothing to answers? It likely has no transcript — YouTube auto-captions most videos, but disabled captions mean only the description gets indexed. Add captions and re-sync.
- Too much unrelated channel content? Switch from a channel ID to a curated playlist so only relevant videos are indexed.
