A workspace is the top-level tenant in BeforeQuery. It owns billing, members and roles, knowledge bases, audit logs, usage metering, SSO connections, and workspace-level integrations (helpdesk and bots). Most teams need exactly one workspace — you get one automatically when you sign up at app.beforequery.com, and you’re its owner.

Invite members

1

Send the invitation

Open Workspace → Team, click Invite, enter the teammate’s email, and choose their role — admin, member, or user (see Roles & Permissions).
2

They accept

Invitees receive an email with a secure link; accepting it (after signing up or logging in) adds them to the workspace.
3

Grant knowledge base access (members)

Members can only chat with knowledge bases they’ve been granted access to — set that per knowledge base under Knowledge Base → Permissions.

Pending invitations

Owners can review, resend, or cancel invitations that haven’t been accepted yet from the same Team page.
With SSO enabled, users who sign in through your identity provider are provisioned into the workspace automatically as members — no manual invitation needed.

Change a member’s role

On Workspace → Team, use the role dropdown next to a member to switch between admin, member, and user. Owners and admins can change roles and manage the team.
A workspace has exactly one owner, and the dropdown cannot assign it — the owner’s own role cannot be changed either. Handing the workspace to someone else is Transfer ownership, which promotes them and demotes you in one step.

Remove a member

Click Remove next to the member. Their dashboard and internal-ask access is revoked immediately; their past conversations and feedback remain for analytics.

Audit log

Team changes — invitations, role updates, removals, knowledge base archival — are recorded in the workspace audit log, visible to owners in the dashboard. See Security.
